The Avenue Magazine is a fashion and culture magazine based in Boston, MA.
I started as a Designer at the magazine in 2015, and was the Creative Director from 2017-2019, during which time I oversaw all visual content and creative teams to create 120-page print issues. I conceptualized, produced, and directed all main photo spreads.
My final issue was titled RAW, a theme exploring the natural state; not processed or purified.

A sensitive exploration into what it feels like to be completely at peace in love. Two lovers exist in harmony with each other and in nature, blissfully existing on the Earth together. The shoot captures warm, natural sunlight to achieve wonderful moments of brilliant light reflection.

Capturing beautiful, honest expression. In addition to Simran’s photos, disposable film was passed around so people could capture their own moments of fun. The shoot was executed on various types of film, including Fuji disposable film, Portra 400 and some digital using lens manipulation.
Style Guide
For the RAW issue, I single-handedly rebranded the full magazine. I created full brand and style guidelines which including logos, typography, graphic elements and example spreads. The design of the guide set the tone for the print issue and for the future of the magazine after my departure.
